Today we went to the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island. There was a nice information center with a well done museum that had many hands on exhibits for children. This month they are featuring Dentist and Doctors form the late 1800’s through WW1. There is also a small village with stores and houses from the period. Henry Fonda was born in Grand Island and help pay to move the house he was born in to the museum grounds. Volunteers stayed in period when talking to you. When we approach Henry Fonda’s house a lady was working in the garden in period clothing. Dave mention that is must be hot in those clothes during the summer especially without air conditioning. She said yes it could be hot but she didn’t know what this air conditioning was.
We stayed in a nice KOA just east of Grand Island they have a fun little store, but the spaces are too close together.
It has been cold since we left Wellington Kansas on Sunday and today it rained off and on, but made it nice to walk around the village.
I will post more pictures when I have a better internet connection.
As usual picture talk louder than words so here you go!
